Buffalo Exchange

Tip #5- With a new season upon us it's time to reevaluate our wardrobes. Get rid of all your closet clutter and donate some of that unwanted clothing. Or for nicer brand name clothes that are still in good condition try selling/trading them at a consignment shop

For those just joining in it’s been summer fashion week at themessymom.com and I have been showing photos of some of my latest thrift store finds as well as giving daily tips. Today’s ensemble was a “trade” from a consignment shop.

Earlier this year J and I finally took a couple baskets full of clothes to buffalo exchange, which is a trendy vintage consignment shop in Dallas, although they have several locations throughout the U.S.

Once they weeded through our clothes to pick what items they were willing to purchase we were offered a certain amount if we took cash and a higher amount as store credit. I liked the idea of maximizing our return so I bought a few things using store credit and took the rest in cash. The DC t-shirt and Sunset jeans shown above were all free as a result of our recycled clothing. Even though I do enjoy slipping on a pair of high heels or wearing skirts and dresses, most days you will find me in a t shirt and jeans so it was nice to stock up on these basic, but essential pieces.

Trading in your clothes is good for the environment, it supports local small business, and it's easy on the wallet. Check out your area for a consignment shop near you.

This has been a frugal friday tid bit. To find out more go to lifeasmom.com.
